Our Leadership

Pro Tem Session

As a mission church of the CREC, Christ the King Evangelical Church is underneath the care of a sponsoring church within the denomination. Therefore, CTK’s session is composed of both elder(s) from the mission church (CTK) and its sponsoring church, The King’s Chapel.

David Young

Ruling Elder

David was born in an orphanage in New Orleans, but was blessed to grow up in Atlanta, GA with a solid Christian family who adopted him in his first few months of life. Thanks to God’s kind providence, he knew God from his earliest of years and took ownership of his faith shortly after high school. After being moved by Dr. George Grant’s seminar talk on a lifetime of learning, David decided to attend Dr. Grant’s Bannockburn College in TN for two years where his vision of the Christian life expanded. He then went on to attend and graduate from New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho in 2004. After graduation, he met his beautiful wife, Michelle, and within a few months they were married in 2008. They’ve bounced around for years, but have now put down some roots in Keyport, NJ and want to see Christ exalted in their borough through the work of this church plant. David is a managing director for a real estate finance and investment company. He’s a board member of his alma mater, New Saint Andrews. He and Michelle have five lively and precocious kids who all love Jesus and are learning to own their faith. Needless to say, David and Michelle have much to be grateful for and a lot of good work ahead of them. As a family, the Youngs enjoy CrossFit, violin, singing out of the Cantus, reading, cooking, household projects, working in the yard, crafts, leaning-in on life, and taking mighty risks all for the glory of the Lord and His ever-expanding Kingdom.
